Overview
The LIVE Lab is looking for a talented, open-minded designer to join our ranks. Designers are highly-creative individuals with distinguishable written and oral communication skills. Ideal candidates will have strong problem-solving abilities, presentation skills, and game engine experience. Applicants should be comfortable with inter-team communication, high iteration turnover, and technical writing.
Responsibilities:
- Design exciting, educational gameplay ideas for a wide range of subjects
- Collaborate with the design team to document, implement, and iterate on gameplay
- Create and test prototypes of game concepts and ideas
- Work across departments to ensure the communication of game vision and proper execution
- Iterate, balance, and tune gameplay features based on team feedback, QA and playtesting throughout production
Requirements:
- Resume and Portfolio with example designs and thought process behind them
- Basic understanding of game design theory
- Technical writing and oral communication skills describing what you have in mind and detailing it out
- Have an extensive library of gaming knowledge and experience
- Must be able to accept critique of work and embrace change

The LIVE Lab is looking for a talented, open-minded UI/UX designer to join our ranks. Designers are highly-creative individuals with distinguishable written and oral communication skills. Ideal candidates for the UI/UX position will have strong problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for visual composition. Applicants should be comfortable with inter-team communication, iteration turnover, and human centered design.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with other designers, artists, and engineers
- Gather and evaluate user requirements
- Illustrating design ideas using storyboards and process flows
- Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, panels, tabs, and buttons
- User Interface Mock-ups (UI represents what information should be displayed on the screen and how it should be presented to the user)
- Conceive transitions and animated effects for user interface
- Consider accessibility in their designs
- Act as a general game designer when necessary
Requirements:
- Resume and Portfolio with example designs and thought process behind them
- Basic understanding of game design theory
- Fundamental understanding of user interaction and experience
- An extensive library of gaming knowledge and experience
- Strong visual communication, including iconography (symbol representation)
- Ability to accept critique and embrace change
- Ability to execute both the visual and functional needs of targeted stakeholders

- Game engine experience
- Presentation skills
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XD
Overview
Our instructional designer is responsible for integrating content, instruction, and assessment for educational video games. They promote a learning-forward perspective throughout the iterative design process asuch as initial needs assessment. And they develop learning goals, objectives, and learning assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Directly communicating with subject matter experts to integrate content, instruction, and assessment into our educational games.
- Promote a learning-forward perspective through the iterative design process, working closely with our design team.
- Develop learning goals, objectives, and learning assessments.
Requirements:
- Enrolled in a Masters or Doctoral Program in Educational Field
- Interest in Educational Games
